'100 trees for 100 years' Fruit Tree School Programs

On the 13th of November, TotalEnergies Marketing Zimbabwe launched a 'Fruit Tree Planting Program, in schools, under the theme '100 trees for TotalEnergies 100 years' in partnership with Mukuvisi Woodlands and local schools, bringing sustainability to the next generation. 🌱

This initiative is a testament 💚 to the companys' commitment to incorporate sustainable practices and environmental protection, with particular attention to one of our 5 levers of sustainablility - 'ENVIRONMENT, and in alignment with our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this initiative is designed to promote environmental stewardship and improve access to nutritious food for students in underprivileged communities.

By establishing and planting fruit trees on school grounds, we’re not only enhancing biodiversity but also creating lasting educational opportunities on sustainable practices, healthy living through the consumption of fruits to supplement nutrition whilst simultaneously contributing to the offset of greenhouse gases through carbon sequestration.

This program directly supports SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 📖 (Quality Education), and SDG 15 🌱(Life on Land), while nurturing a sense of responsibility toward the environment in young pupils minds.

We’re excited 😊 to see the positive impact this initiative will have, and we look forward to watching these trees grow alongside the students who will benefit from them for years to come.

The launch took place at Tsatse State Primary School in Domboshava and 5 schools in total are expected to benefit from the initial phase of this initiative.
